We’ve all been through our partner’s skincare stash when we suddenly felt a pimple erupting or the back of or hands getting way too dry. And while you may think that skincare is a tough cookie to crack, let us let you in on a secret: it really isn’t! Here are 8 simple skincare hacks us guys can incorporate into our daily routines to up our self-care game.
1.Detox your diet
Yup, we said it. What happens on your skin isn’t just about what you apply topically. What you put into your system has a big say in whether you’re going to wake up with an oily face or that nasty pimple.
We recommend: Add at least one healthy meal to your day, drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated, and even if you must eat out, remember to choose healthier options.
2.Mask up every weekend
What do face masks do, you ask? Well, apart from its cooling effects on the skin, face masks provide much needed hydration, soak up excess oil, clean your pores, and provide overall relaxation to your weekend.
We recommend: Partner up with your siblings, friends, girlfriend, or spouse (or even just by yourself!) for a self-care session this weekend, and thank us later!
3. Exfoliation is key
Dirt, sweat, pollution can really clog up those pores. The answer is simple: Don’t wait, EXFOLIATE! Pick up an exfoliating product like a body wash with granules, or a face/ body scrub, or simply use a pumice stone while you’re in the shower! This will not just remove dead skin cells, but also promote blood circulation underneath your skin, giving you that glow.
